Conservation Partner: Katala Foundation has been implementing species-centred conservation programs in Palawan, Philippines for more than 25 years, protecting and conserving threatened endemic wildlife through active community involvement.
Biodiversity: Conservation on Pandanan island protects 21 threatened and near-threatened species including: Critically endangered Philippine Cockatoo. Endangered Balabac Mouse Deer, Palawan Bearded Pig, and Philippine Porcupine.

Deforestation Risk: Coastal forests on small islands are being lost to the development of beach resorts as well as clearing for coconut plantations and smallholder agriculture.
